Avast Antivirus Can't Post

I have to say that Avast has a good thing going and I dont know how they provide free service with the level of protection thier program provides. I was a long time user of Symantec Norton Antivirus and I finally got tired of buying these programs every year so I checked until I ran across this free antivirus program and I have cought several viruses before they were installed. I have never had a major problem using this program.

The only time I got infected was when I thought I had a legit download of a program and I chose to install anyway after I got the warning from Avast that it was infected. I learned from that point to listen to the program from now on.

Fortunately Avast was able to scan and remove all traces of the virus and my system runs very smoothly with no probs.

I have been using this for over two years and I will still use it even if they start charging for it.

Download version 4.7 and you will get 60 days free trial. If you want to keep it just register and you will get keycode emailed to you and simply copy and paste and you will get a 1 year free useage. Once that runs out all you have to do is re register and you get another free keycode. You get free updates for the virus database and the program.

I prefer AVG Free over Avast, but that's just my opinion.

I like to support a community where others donate their work, that's why I'm drawn to open-source programs (AVG isn't open-source, it's just free).

AVG has definition updates daily, and program updates on a regular basis.

Re: [azzey] Avast Antivirus [In reply to] Can't Post

I havent personally used AVG so I cant personally compare but I can say that I recently had to work on a pc that was infected using AVG. Its possible that they allowed the program or whatever that infected the pc to run it after a warning notification was given by AVG. I have had Avast to do that on a number of occasions and the only time I got infected was when I allowed the program to run. Luckily for me Avast was able to remove it after I was infected and I didnt miss a beat. From then on if it says thiers a virus I delete the file or program.

Both are probably good, all I know is that Avast has done its job well for me for over 2 years and best of all its free.
